We are at our best when we move through the world with compassion, curiosity, and presence of mind. If that feels aspirational, let’s connect. I help individuals and couples cultivate these capacities so they can live a more connected, intentional life. My work is rooted in noticing and developing present‑moment experiences, using developmental and attachment psychology, and exploring internal and external systems.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a space to understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do—and to explore new ways of being. If you feel lonely trying to hold everything together while feeling overwhelmed inside, we will build a grounded sense of possibility and self‑efficacy and finds steps to take. Together, we will:
- Develop step‑by‑step goals based on your capacity that break down barriers to change
- Create supportive routines that strengthen everyday well‑being
- Build awareness and self‑compassion as we examine the experiences and protective strategies that shape your life
Couples Therapy
I help partners understand the emotional cycles that create distance and disconnection, and support them in rebuilding safety, empathy, and trust. Many couples arrive feeling caught in repetitive conflict or unsure how to bridge the growing gap between them. I guide partners in safely exploring what has been unspoken, processing past hurts, and strengthening communication. Whether you’re navigating conflict, struggling with resentment, or working to reconnect after a rupture, I’ll help you move toward a more secure, emotionally attuned relationship.
Working together, I can help you:
- Strengthen communication and conflict‑resolution skills
- Build a strong foundation through premarital counseling
- Navigate the realities of parenthood with greater connection and clarity
- Deepen intimacy—both emotional and physical
- Rebuild trust after betrayal or prolonged conflict
Experience
I’m a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Washington, DC working under the supervision of Carolyn Bell. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. My experience spans from crisis intervention, community mental health resourcing and advocacy, and private practice.
Before pursuing counseling, I was an attorney, earning my JD from Lewis & Clark Law School and a BS in Psychology from the University of Florida. I worked as a Guardian ad Litem, director at an environmental NGO, and policy analyst. These experiences sharpened my justice-oriented lens and have allowed me to better support clients who feel burned out, existential dread, or continue to grapple with childhood adversities.
I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming and sex‑positive therapist who welcomes the full complexity of identity, intimacy, and connection. My therapeutic foundation includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion‑Focused Therapy, other attachment‑based approaches, and CBT. These frameworks help clients reconnect with their inner resources, deepen self‑knowledge, and move toward a more grounded, connected, and flourishing life.
